About the artist

Lindsey Nall expresses the layers of life and her own emotional journey in the art she creates.  As a youth, she was hospitalized several times and lived in different foster homes from the age of 13.  She recalls as a child how the challenges of dealing with many problems at once exploited life’s intricacies causing her to grow up faster.

“…You are so different than other kids around… parents walk them to school.  You never really know what is happening or what it’s like. It’s not until you pull the layers back do you see the true beauty of the person like a butterfly.  Your situation is like the chrysalis…”

To create the signature Blue Butterfly for The Ellis McCarthur Foundation, Nall’s use of soft and intricately layered paint styles represent the lives of children that fall into the need-based demographic.  The children, and their families have a lot of layers, representing needs like money, motivation, education. “It takes a lot of strength to go forward”, Nall reflects on her childhood and transition into adulthood, “I am not a full-blown butterfly yet, but I am still transforming.  You are so much more than your situation. I am not a victim of my circumstances.” She recalls that during the difficult times in her childhood, she felt alone with dealing with the challenges and now has the biggest heart for anyone who feels like they are out of place. That is the purpose and inspiration for her art.

One can appreciate her use of varying creative styles, including watercolors, helping to immerse any admirer of art into a connection filled with compassion, love, and forgiveness.  “…Sometimes I feel that…I just want to make people feel great with art.” Nall connects a piece of her personal journey with every brush stroke. Leaving behind on the canvas, a relevant story that speaks to the quiet issues into today’s society; where people struggle with love and themselves.  She continues to improve on her spiritual gift through education and training in order to create a genuine healing experience with the world.

Lindsey Nall will be a featured artist at Extraordinaire Art Show and Emporium at Triangle Town Center in an upcoming exhibit.  Lindsey Nall can be reached for commissioning projects or art exhibit opportunities via email at inscensiart@gmail.com.
